You can bring any type of push toys, strollers, tricycles, plasma cars, or use their skates. The charge is $5 per child (no charge for adults:) and it lasts from 10-12 each Friday. The 2 year olds in our group were uncertain at first, but eventually got comfortable and began to play. Everyone brought one or two toys and all the moms there seemed comfortable with sharing. So whatever was on the floor was pretty much available for your child if its owner wasn't using it (which was great since we play with our own all the time at home and I got to see what else our children liked.) The facility provided some balls and hula hoops as well for the kids to play with. You could essentially provide the same environment with an open gym (at church, rec center, school) and any group of kids under 5 or so since the parents are providing most of the toys. Overall a good experience especially if you live close by. (I'd personally like a little more air-conditioning in there though.)

Discovery Green Downtown Park

Today we visited the newDiscovery Green Downtown Park. It is a very nice park with water play. Unfortunately we got rained out and their was a park official keeping everyone off the all metal play equipment because of the lightning/thunder. We look forward to trying it again. Street parking was easy - meters, but they take credit cards ($1.25/hr)We brought lunch so I can't tell you about the food. It's worth checking out the park. Make sure to bring towels and a change of clothes.

Chuck E Cheese

We decided to try out Chuck E Cheese the other night. Dax has been with grandparents recently, but I've not taken him since he was 1 back in Dallas. Dax always asks to go when we pass it on the way to church. We had a coupon, so we decided to try it. Lets just say sensory overload. My 2 1/2 year old had fun, but I've seen him enjoy other places more. It may be better for slightly older kids. My husband and I were relieved to leave all the noise and flashing lights. They do safety stamps where all the adults/kids have a invisible stamp checked at the door. I liked this except for my baby they gave me a sticker with the stamp on it and we'd lost it by the time we left. If we go back, I'll ask them to stamp everyone directly on their skin. The pizza was okay. Not great, not inedible. About what you'd expect from Chuck E Cheese.

Sugarbaby's

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_C79E0e2u6CE/SF8aPZp6BoI/AAAAAAAAAiY/hLAyBH3p3aw/s400/IMG_5823.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214915745405339266" />
Sugarbaby'sis a little boutique cupcake shop. The cupcakes are pricey, but good. It's a cute outing for your little girls, though my 2 year old son didn't notice the girly decor over that blue icing he was eating. He loved pouring the sprinkles on his cupcake from the sprinkle bar. The sprinkle bar is just 6 little containers filled with different kinds of sprinkles. This made all the difference in adding just a little more to our visit.

Noah's Ark Pool

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_C79E0e2u6CE/SF2QtjvHOSI/AAAAAAAAAhA/fMs4sE-LcFI/s400/IMG_5761.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214483055926262050" />
We met some friends at a baby/ preschool pool today. It was really great. Dax and his friend could walk and play in the water without having to swim or be held the whole time. There were water slides they could do themselves (if so inclined - Dax was not so brave.) It is a perfect place to go in this heat. It's a bit more than a spray park, but not quite a pool.

Houston Children's Museum
